It has been another great year of autocross with CART in 2017 but we are not done yet. Before the season ends we still have a few more major events to enjoy. First is our monthly membership meeting which will be held on October 18th at Maples Family Restaurant located at 725 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury CT. Meeting starts promptly at 7PM so get there early to place food and drink orders before the crowd. The major topics of discussion will be the finalization of the list for nominees for next years officer positions and our upcoming two day trackcross grand finale events at Thompson. Once again these events will be using not only the autocross lot but also a potion of the road course at Thompson and will be the fastest, longest autocross course in Connecticut. The first day (October 21) will be the final points event for the 2017 season and therefore will also feature our annual autocross driver of the year run-off. This run-off pits the top twelve drivers in the best of eight autocross points against each other on a fresh course for three runs each. Whichever driver runs the best time with their adjusted CART PAX factor(generated from random events in 2017) becomes the 2017 autocross driver of the year. The second day of our trackcross grand finale will be once again held on the both the autocross lot and the road course but will feature a different configuration from the day before and will not be a points event. The cost for both of these events is $60 per day but if you pay for both days on Saturday morning we will give you a $10 discount per day. CART hopes to see everyone there to say goodbye to another great season of autocross, time trials, and mostly fun with friends.
