T.E.A.C.H. School Details

Berlin: Sunday, September 11, 2011                                                           Burlington: Sunday, October 30, 2011

We are looking for students for our annual Teen Education for Advanced Car Handling (T.E.A.C.H.) program, hosted by the Conn. Autocross and Rally Team Club.

 The purpose of the T.E.A.C.H. program is to help young drivers develop a better understanding of their vehicle and how they should respond to changing conditions on the road. T.E.A.C.H. them to anticipate, recognize and adapt to those changes and increase their ability to avoid accidents. T.E.A.C.H. them to become better drivers on the road everyday.

The T.E.A.C.H. school is intended for students from ages sixteen years, six months old to twenty one years old, with a valid drivers license. It is not an autocross school; it is a school designed to teach advanced driving skills applicable to daily drinving on the road. Students under 18 need a notarized parental waiver - download here..

The school is limited to 20 participants at Berlin and 12 participants at Burlington, so please sign up right away. We are offering this opportunity to the local high school first for a limited time, and then we will expand the invitation to local areas.

Date/Time/Information: (School begins at 9am, so please do not arrive late. School ends at approximately 5pm)

Berlin:

WHEN: Sunday, September 11, 2011
WHERE: Corbin Ruswin facility located at 225 Episcopal Road in Berlin, Ct.

 

Burlington:

WHEN: Sunday, October 30, 2011
WHERE: Lewis S. Mills High School located at 26 Lyon Road in Burlington, Ct.

 

COST: $25 per student
WHAT YOU WILL NEED (more information included in participant packet): Working automobile (mechanically sound). SUVs, minivans, and other vehicles with a high center of gravity will be evaluated for participation for safety concerns. Every vehicle will be given a short safety inspection at the start of the school. If you are under 18, a notarized parental waiver - download here.
**Note: if you have a motorcycle or automobile helmet, please bring it. 

LUNCH: Pizza lunch for students and parents will be provided.

To register for the T.E.A.C.H. school, please send an email to C.A.R.T. TEACH Team with the following information:

  • Student's name
  • Name and phone number of parent
  • Age of student
  • Email address
  • Make and model of car to be used at TEACH school
  • Any modifications done to the vehicle

A representative will electronically send all forms and related materials to be completed for the day of the event.
Parents are invited to stay and observe during the school.
