| Great track, very challenging. Had a great time until I broke. Pictures should be up tonight, was too late / too tired yesterday. |

| Great track day, the weather really panned out for the best which was great. I personally found the course to be very challenging, but still very fun. |

| We had our usual share of mechanical failure. My wheel bearings decided thatt 77,000 miles were the design life, and started to growl. Strangely, all 3 Fiero's were running at the end of the day. |

I'm glad I decided to make the trip, the track was great. Watching the videos, I think I could have taken a better line some times, but there really isn't just 1 right line.
Now I need to figure out a real solution to my heatsoaking problems. Pulling off the hood gives me a few more laps, but the intercooler still isn't working as well as I'd like. |

Hey Andy, maybe hook up an electric fan to help keep the air moving? I know your intercooler is up front so it should already be getting good air movement, but every bit helps.
Also: Snorkel and side/underbody scoops! Aerodynamics be damned! |

It's an air to water intercooler (sealed, separate coolant system from the engine coolant). The water itself isn't getting too warm but its flowing at about 15 gpm, which is telling me that the intercooler is undersized for constant high RPM use. It works great at the autocross, but not so well at the track. It amazes me that the air from a blower is hotter than the air from a turbo, and I think that has something to do with it. Also, the air filter is sucking in some warm air to begin with, so the fix needs to be 2 pronged.
Anyways, I did alright. I was impressed with the facilities (executive wash room and all...). I hope the club decides to go back at least once next year, I think the track is challenging enough to merit the drive. |

| Very challenging track. More cars would have been ok. There was unlimited track time. Liam needs to slow down so we don't look so bad. LOR |

Track design was a bit weak. Designed for the rich guys with more car than skills, but I would go back again.
PS: monticello - BUY MORE FING RACE GAS |

I felt like the course (as in its design) was not quite as nice as Lime Rock. I don't know why, but for some reason I feel like it was forced, rather than Lime Rock which didn't have that feeling. However, I still think it was a good event, and that is was more interesting than the Pocono event I ran last year. It was closer, easy to get to, and has plenty of decent hotels around. Plus, pretty cheap compared to Lime Rock. I would deffinitly do it again.
However it really exposes just how bad my brakes are. I couldn't even really get a lap out of the brakes before fade hit, my front right tire did nothing other than lock, and in those short brake zones they just couldn't do that whole stopping thing. I can't wait to get some real brakes! |

That's from the course design its for guys with big horsepower cars with big brakes and no skills in the corner.
Mash the power mash the brakes - crawl through the 40mph corners and repeat. If you make a mistake it so slow you stay out of trouble. If you go off in the corner you are going so slow you don't make it into the tire wall.
Limerock and most other tracks have some flow to them - you have to carry your speed rather than drag race from corner to corner and murder the brakes for every turn. Overall much much better than going to work for the day, but still not a limerock, or a watkins glen, or NJMP - probably better than louden because it's at least smooth pavement. |
