C.A.R.T. Club Points
Please note that all points results are provisional, and subject to change. To
receive points for end of year awards, you must be a member, and have attended
a least one club meeting in the first half of the calendar year, and at least
one meeting in the second half of the calendar year. You will begin accruing
points after you have been voted in as a member.
How points are awarded:
Points are awarded to members based on the members finishing order in the bumped class in with they competed for each particular event. The points are given to you for the original class you registered in. As an example you have a BS car but there are not enough cars to make a class (3) so you are bumped up to AS where you finish second and receive second place points. Those points are credited to you in BS.
The number of points each car is awarded is as follows. First place receives 20 points, second place 18 points, and third place 16 points right on down to zero. In addition to these points competitors are awarded one bonus point for each car beaten up to a total of four bonus points (or cars beaten) in class.
The Driver of the Year” is awarded to the member who has the highest number of points based on their best fourteen finishes. These fourteen events can include points from autocross, track, rally or snowcross events.
The Autocross Driver of the Year” is awarded to the member who has the highest number of points based on their best nine finishes.
The Time Trialer of the Year” is awarded to the member who has the highest number of points based on all of the track events, regardless of class
The Rally Driver of the Year” is awarded to the member with the highest number of points earned at all of the rally events.
Autocross class champions are based on the total number of points awarded to the member who has the highest number of points based on their best nine finishes. To win a class you must compete in the same class in at least five events
